Shannon McCon began dancing at Entenmann’s Dance Studio in Bellevue, NE on scholarship,
through the inspiration of her mother. Later, she studied classical ballet under the direction of
Robin Welch and Rachel Vickrey. She attended both the Glenda Brown Choreography Project
summer intensive and Parson’s Dance summer intensive on scholarship. While obtaining her
Bachelor’s degree on both academic and dance scholarships, Shannon studied ballet, modern,
and jazz. She worked with numerous choreographers including James Samson, Bethânia Gomez,
Kathryn Alter, and Marlise McCormick. Shannon has danced professionally with Metropolitan
Ballet Wichita where she performed the principal role of the Dew Drop in The Nutcracker Ballet,
under the direction of Jill Landrith. She also danced professionally with Wheatstate Dance
Collective while under the direction of Heather Eilerts. Currently, Shannon is obtaining her
Master’s degree at The New School where she studies philosophy.
