Rita Rotundo started dancing at the age of 3 in her hometown in southern Italy. During her teenage years she won prizes from competitions all around Italy and started tour with ‘Giovanni Calabrò dance company’ performing dances from Balanchine, Petipa, and Colletti.
At the age of 16 she won a scholarship for the Manhattan Youth Ballet summer intensive and that’s when she fell in love with the United States. Before moving to NYC in 2016, she attended Dance Arts Faculty in Rome under the direction of Mauro Astolfi. In NYC, she explores new modern and contemporary techniques and after graduating from the Ailey school as a scholarship student she obtained the teaching certificate from the Martha Graham school. Still in New York she had the chance to perform pieces from Graham, Buglisi, Man Joo, Rodhen and take part in amazing productions such as Table of silence, Columbus day Parade, and New Year’s Eve in Times Square.
Rita approached the musical theater world in 2020, when she became rehearsal director and production assistant for An Nuo Spiritual dance & arts. A beautiful collaboration started in the same year with Incanto Production, with the edu-musical ‘Sempreverde’ and ‘Treasure Hunt’. At the same time, she started performing as a showgirl and entertainer in the most luxurious venues around the tri-state area and
beyond, dancing next to some of the most famous DJs in the world (Steve Aoki, Vicetone, Alesso) and for important projects and companies (Make a wish, Bacardi, Patron, Mr. Beast) She’s currently teaching Body Ballet for Center for Dance and Body by Anne Lederfeind and dancing with Athena Entertainment. Rita is so excited to start this wonderful journey into the Elements world!
